However where we feel that the regulated commercial finance markets do provide a better solution we will refer them to our banking partners.

We also offer Alternative Finance solutions where no workable banking solutions exists. The alternative finance market has a long history in traditional finance. Historically private capital has been the main source of finance for emerging companies. An often quoted example is trade finance where the old British merchant banks used to finance international trade in the late 19th century. With the widespread acceptance of UCCP terms these have since been the forte of banks. A more recent example is Islamic Finance with no interest charged. Other examples include Contract Financing where there is an ill defined principal amount set up front. Media finance and countertrade are also examples.
